Dappo(Coat with short sleeve)

(L)122cm, (W)56cm, Excavated from the tomb of Lee Jik(family originated in Jeonju)

A Dappo excavated from the tomb of Lee, Jik (1677~1746), a relative of the Royal family. The most distinguished characteristic of Dappo is the short, straight sleeves; thus it was usually worn over Cheollick or under Dallryung as a layer. This finely quilted Dallryung is made of crepe fabric and lined with plain silk. It has very short sleeves and slits on the side seams, thus assumed to be worn as an outer layer over a long sleeved top.
