Dappo(Coat with Short Sleeve)

16th~17th centry, Joseon dynasty, L:95cm, W:52cm

This dappo, thinly layered with cotton batting, was made of satin damask with flower-geometric motif, and silk tabby lining. The square collar, double layered and sewn in the middle, was different color from the bodice. The both sides were completely slitted. The marks of missing neckband and breast tie were remained. The length of coat a bit shorter than other coat. It is an indoor coat which was simply designed for winter. This type of coat was rarely found from the excavated clothing in the mid and late Joseon dynasty. It is an important material showing the variety of inner wear for winter.
