Magoja. Over-jacket

19th centry, Korean Empire, L:23cm, ½W+S.L:66cm, W:42cm

The magoja referred to a lined outer jacket similar to the jeogori but without a collar or adjusting ties. The front panels meet at the center front without overlapping and are adjusted with one or two buttons, even though the magoja has outer and inner seop panels for overlapping. The outer fabric is gray satin damask with flower and butterfly motif, and the lining is an off-white tabby silk.
