Dang-ui(Ceremonial long Jacket of Princess Deok-on)

19th centry, Joseon dynasty, L:73cm, ½W+S.L:67cm, W:36cm

A Dang-ui, worn by Princess Deok-on (1822~1844). Unlined and made of pea green gauze with peach and pomegranate motif, is embellished with gold-leaf imprints all over in the motive of Chinese characters which mean longevity and good fortune. The shoulder is patched inside with reinforcing piece, and the upper part of inner overlapping panel is gathered couple of times to protect from hanging down.
